309 OG

The 309 OG cannabis strain is new, and little is known about it. Nature’s Grace and Wellness bred the indica-dominant hybrid strain with Grimace OG, and OG Kush strains to yield a distinctive hybrid. Its name comes from the local area code and its OG heritage. However, the OG family of cannabis strains are all related to OG Kush distantly. The “OG” abbreviation denotes an original or unique strain, referencing the term “original gangsta.” Although the strain hasn’t been around long, users have already taken note of its benefits for insomnia, stress, and pain.

309 OG is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)-dominant and contains low levels of other cannabinoids like cannabigerol (CBG) and cannabidiol (CBD). Its parent strains have a high THC content of 23% (OG Kush) and 18% (Grimace OG) with little to no CBD or CBG.

Growing

Because 309 OG hasn’t been around long, little is known about its ideal growing environment. But if you get some seeds, growing 309 OG should be the same as growing many other cannabis plants.

Typically, cannabis can be grown inside or outside, and you can check out some specific tips for each environment. If you’re just starting, it’s good to learn cannabis growing essentials.

height icon

Height

Since the 309 OG strain is so new, its average height hasn’t been worked out. Most cannabis plants can grow anywhere between 1.5 to 34 feet tall. However, Grimace OG typically only grows to be less than 30 inches tall, and OG Kush only just tops that, growing to be 35 to 63 inches tall. Considering that these are the strains 309 OG was bred from, you can probably expect it to also be on the shorter end of the spectrum.

humidity icon

Humidity and Temperature

The ideal humidity depends on the stage of the plant’s life cycle. Seedlings tend to do best at a humidity of around 60%, while plants in the vegetative stage can manage anywhere between 50% and 70%. Then, when they start flowering, they need to be a little drier at 50% humidity to prevent them from rotting.

Flowering

Cannabis plants usually take about six to 14 weeks to start flowering. You can use the pistils’ color or trichomes to decide when they should be harvested. Some techniques can increase your harvest if the plant isn’t producing a satisfactory yield.
