Strawberry Haze

Strawberry Haze, also called Arjan’s Strawberry Haze, was introduced in 2005. This strain (cultivar) won first place at the Green House Very Important Smokers Panel in 2005. As the name suggests, Strawberry Haze has strawberry-smelling buds, for which it’s become well known. Strawberry Haze has been described as having an energetic, talkative, uplifting effect, making it ideal for managing stress, anxiety, and depression.

Strawberry Haze is typically 70% Cannabis sativa and 30% Cannabis indica. It’s a rare sativa-dominant strain created by crossing Northern Lights #5, Swiss Sativa, and Kali Mist. However, it’s pretty easy to care for and thrives when the roots are given free rein in the soil. Additionally, Strawberry Haze provides an abundant yield because it grows tall with long branches.

Terpenes

Terpenes are organic substances distributed throughout nature, enhancing all plants’ smell, flavor, and color, including cannabis. The terpenes in cannabis plants are especially renowned for producing an intense aroma. Because different cannabis strains have somewhat varying terpene profiles, each strain smells and tastes differently.

Additionally, terpenes have various health benefits. For instance, some relieve anxiety or have anti-inflammatory properties. Others are known to enhance the effects of cannabinoids through the entourage effect.

Medical Applications

Strawberry Haze contains a significant amount of THC. Hence, most of its therapeutic effects are linked to this cannabinoid. THC has carried a bad reputation since it can make people high. However, with more awareness, many people have realized that THC has healing potential. For instance, when given at lower doses, THC can give people therapeutic benefits with a less psychoactive effect.

Growing

Strawberry Haze is a sativa-dominant strain. While most sativa plants are known to grow tall, Strawberry Haze grows not only tall but also has long branches that stretch away from the plant. Therefore, if you’re growing more than one plant, you’ll need to provide plenty of room for branches to spread. When grown outdoors, the plant grows up to an impressive 9 feet (2.7 meters). However, when grown indoors, it won’t grow this tall.

Strawberry Haze is 70% Cannabis sativa and 30% Cannabis indica. It has a high THC content, and the buds are known for their strong strawberry aroma. When grown outdoors, growers can expect an excellent yield of 21 ounces (595 grams) per plant. When grown indoors, expect a lower yield. Cut the top off the plant’s central stem when it has reached an acceptable height to increase flowering. Doing so will make the plant bushier, allowing more leaves and buds to grow.

On average, Strawberry Haze grows to 9 feet (2.7 meters) when grown outdoors.

Humidity and Temperature

Strawberry Haze prefers a semi-humid climate. Therefore, keeping the humidity around 40%-50% is best. Always reduce the humidity as the plant enters the flowering stage to prevent mold from growing on the buds.
The temperature should be between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit (20 and 25 degrees Celsius). As with other sativa-dominant strains, don’t leave this plant outside when the nights are cold.

Flowering

Strawberry Haze will flower for 10-12 weeks. Most sativas finish flowering in about 10 to 14 weeks.
