Blueberry OG

A cross between OG Kush and DJ Short Blueberry, Blueberry OG — or Blueberry OG Kush — is an indica-dominant marijuana hybrid. It is 70% Cannabis indica and 30% Cannabis sativa.

Barney’s Farm on the West Coast created Blueberry OG with some well-loved parents. A cross between the infamous indica-dominant OG Kush and the much-loved indica-dominant DJ Short Blueberry, Blueberry OG, was set up for success. Taking after its parents with a strong indica effect, this strain produces a powerful body high that calms and relaxes the body.

Blueberry OG’s flavor profile contains the best characteristics of both of its parents. With sweet, sour, and citrus flavors from OG Kush and the strong fruity blueberry flavor from DJ Short Blueberry — and earthy aroma from both — Blueberry OG is delicious.

The full-body high that Blueberry OG is known for is a result of it being 70% indica. This strain has relaxing, numbing effects, which make it ideal for nighttime use and to help with sleep. With a THC content ranging from 16% to 24%, this strain can pack a punch, so users should be careful with dosing if they want to avoid “couch lock.”

The CBD content of Blueberry OG is debated but largely considered to be low. Those who claim it has CBD levels over 10% boast of its pain-relieving abilities. While it is common to use the numbing effects of indica-dominant strains to help with pain, it may not be effective for everyone.

Growing

Blueberry OG can be grown from seeds and cuttings (also known as clones). The creator of Blueberry OG, Barneys Farm, tightly controls the sale of these seeds, making them very hard to come by. Because of this, the easiest way to grow Blueberry OG is to find someone with a mature female plant and get a cutting from there.
This plant can be grown indoors and outdoors but is not suitable for novice gardeners because it requires a high level of maintenance. Indica-dominant Blueberry OG will grow short and bushy with densely packed buds and branches. Plants need pruning so branches on the top do not overshadow them. Sunlight is essential for maturing plants; you want the largest surface area possible to receive direct sunlight.
You can also use “temperature shocking” to bring out more vibrant colors on the buds. This requires exposing your plants to a lower temperature before the start of the flowering stage. This is easy if you grow Blueberry OG indoors, as you can easily adjust the temperature, but it’s more challenging to control in an outdoor setting.
You can expect a successful indoor plant to yield around 21 ounces for every 10 square feet, and outdoor plants will have a higher yield of approximately 35 ounces per plant.

Blueberry OG is a versatile plant that will be able to grow in temperate and hot environments. Climates that get colder may even be advantageous for “temperature-shocking” outdoor crops.
