Super Glue

Super Glue, known by some as Tacky Glue, is a relatively balanced hybrid strain, containing approximately 60% Cannabis indica and 40% Cannabis sativa genetics. It is a cross between the well-known Northern Lights and Afghani landrace strains. Despite its name and high level of THC, Super Glue is not related to Gorilla Glue.

The Dutch seed bank Seedism Seeds initially produced Super Glue. It is a successful strain that has won several awards, including:

First place for Best Hybrid in the High Times 2019 Cannabis Cup Nevada.

In terms of appearance, the flowers are capped by sticky white translucent trichomes that appear glue-like when dried, which is one of the reasons this strain is called Super Glue. It has orange-red pistils and green leaves coiled around the buds.

Growing

The Super Glue strain can be grown indoors and outdoors.

It’s described as moderately difficult to grow because it requires regular trimming. Trimming Super Glue can be challenging for some because the trichomes are sticky due to the high THC levels.

You can’t purchase Super Glue seeds online, so you’ll need to use clones taken from cuttings of a mother plant.

Indoor-grown Super Glue plants typically produce yields of 400 to 500 grams of bud per square meter (14 to 17 ounces). Growing Super Glue outdoors can expect a yield of between 500 and 600 grams (17 to 21 ounces) per square meter.

If growing Super Glue indoors, you may want to try the “Screen of Green” (ScroG) growing method that involves growing cannabis plants horizontally, under, and around a screen. Its purpose is to ensure that all parts of the plant, including the lower parts, are exposed to sunlight and air.

Super Glue is moderately resistant to disease. However, it does contain a large cluster of buds that grow tightly together, which means it is susceptible to mold. To prevent mold from growing on Super Glue, make sure that all parts of the plant always have good airflow.

Height

As an indica-leaning plant, Super Glue is relatively short in height and generally reaches between 47 and 59 inches (1.2 and 1.5 meters) inside. Outdoors, Super Glue can grow up to 78 inches (2 meters).
Rather than growing tall, Super Glue grows bushy and wide.

Humidity and Temperature

Super Glue plants grow best in a relatively humid and warm Mediterranean-like climate.
However, it also shouldn’t be too humid because this can increase the chance of mold growing on the plants.

Flowering

Once ready, the Super Glue flowers are dense, large, and spade-like in appearance.
Generally, Super Glue flowers at eight to nine weeks are fast for a cannabis strain.
If growing Super Glue outside, it will likely be ready to harvest in late October (in the Northern Hemisphere).
