Afternoon Delight (or Afternoon Delite) is a hybrid cannabis strain created by Colorado Seed Inc. It is an indica-dominant strain that is incredibly potent and great for relaxation and pain relief.
Afternoon Delight results from a cross between Banana, Schrom, and Tangie strains. Citrus flavors, rich pine, and skunky diesel give this strain a tropical punch, perfect for chilling out at the beach or hanging out on the deck on a sunny day. You may have heard the song lyrics “skyrocket in flight, afternoon delight,” but not everyone knows what it is about. Bill Danoff wrote it after visiting a cafe that offered a set of smaller food dishes called “Afternoon Delight.”
This got his creative juices flowing, and he used the name as a euphemism for the feeling you get during a sexual high. This is the perfect analogy for this particular strain, which is sometimes referred to as “herbal Viagra,” thanks to its strong body high coupled with feelings of euphoria.
Both the taste and smell are tropical in nature, with citrus, pine, and chunky diesel notes. This strain is known for its small, dense buds, which are accentuated with thin orange hairs and sticky resin.
This strain has a high indica and sativa ratio: It is unknown what the exact content is, but a good guess would be around 70% indica and 30% sativa.
