Tahoe OG

The Tahoe OG strain — also known as the Tahoe OG Kush strain — embodies the typical effects of an indica plant while having a slight sativa-like kick. Growers say that Tahoe OG is a phenotype of classic OG Kush. The best aspect of this strain (cultivar) is that it matures at around 10 weeks, meaning it grows fast enough to make it ideal for anyone who wants to harvest their crop quickly. It is said to have more sedating effects, making it ideal for managing stress, insomnia, and chronic pain.

Tahoe OG was created in the 1980s near Lake Tahoe, California. The plant is typically indica-dominant; however, modern cross-breeding has produced some slight variations, and some of these plants may contain more sativa genetics. Generally, most Tahoe OG plants are 90% Cannabis indica and 10% Cannabis sativa. The THC content is no higher than 21%, and very little CBD is found in this strain.

Some plants have bright orange pistils and lime-green buds. Tahoe OG has been described as having an earthy, citrus, and pine taste and aroma. Many users prefer this strain because it induces deep sleep and relaxation.

Terpenes

The dominant terpene in Tahoe OG is myrcene. This terpene is found within all cannabis plants regardless of the strain, although some contain more myrcene than others. Tahoe OG is one plant with higher levels of myrcene, which contributes to its relaxing effects. Pinene and limonene are other terpenes commonly found in Tahoe OG.

Medical Applications

Cannabis offers many therapeutic effects, and more people are starting to understand its potential. Tahoe OG has a good percentage of THC. While this cannabinoid is known to make people high, it also provides some health benefits when taken at the correct dose. Tahoe OG also contains CBG, another cannabinoid that offers some health benefits.

Nausea & Vomiting

Although overconsumption of THC and CBG can cause nausea and vomiting, low to moderate doses of cannabinoids like THC and CBD can act as an anti-emetic (anti-nausea) medication by modulating dopamine (D2) receptors, serotonin (5HT3) receptors, neurokinin receptors (NK1), antihistamine, acetylcholine, and TRPV1 (vanilloid) receptors.

Growing

Tahoe OG is an indica plant. Most indica plants grow half as tall as sativa plants and tend to be bushier. Therefore, Tahoe OG is an ideal plant to keep indoors, although it can be grown outdoors if that’s your preference.
Like most cannabis plants, Tahoe OG produces natural compounds that make it resistant to pests and diseases. However, taking extra care of this plant is essential because it grows rapidly. As a result, it may not get adequate ventilation if the leaves aren’t pruned.
From Tahoe OG, growers can expect 11 ounces (310 grams) per square meter. Indica plants often have smaller yields than sativa plants, but the good news is that Tahoe OG is fast-growing, and in the long run, you might have bigger harvests overall. If grown indoors, remember to provide the plant with regular feeding, water, and sun for the best yield possible.

Humidity and Temperature

As with most varieties of cannabis, Tahoe OG does well at a humidity level between 50% and 70% during the vegetative stage. Keep the humidity low at 30%-40% when buds start to form.
Ideal temperatures are between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit (21 and 29 degrees Celsius) and no lower than 60 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit (15.5 and 21 degrees Celsius) at night if these temperatures cannot be maintained outdoors.
