Platinum Kush is a popular hybrid cannabis strain. It’s indica-dominant, containing 90% cannabis indica and 10% cannabis sativa genetics. Although the exact genetic background of Platinum Kush isn’t known, it’s believed to be made by crossing OG Kush and an unknown Afghani strain.
Platinum Kush has a sweet, earthy, hashy, and almost skunky aroma. When the flowers are broken up, however, it often smells tangy. The flavor of Platinum Kush is fruity, sweet, and woody.
Purple hues and bright orange hairs characterize its appearance. However, Platinum Kush gets its name from its different platinum-silver color. A shiny silver coat of crystal resin covers the flowers and leaves.
The Platinum Kush strain, also known as Platinum OG Kush or Platinum OG, was developed by Apothecary Genetics in the early 1990s. Since then, Platinum Kush has become increasingly popular, as demonstrated by its Best Hydro Strain win in the 1994 High Times Cup.
Platinum Kush is commonly grown on the United States West Coast and in Colorado.
