Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a rare and often deadly disease that most often affects people in sub-Saharan Africa. EVD can be contracted either by contact with an infected person or an animal (usually a bat or nonhuman primate). EVD can cause severe and fatal hemorrhagic fever in humans. Weakness and fatigue, loss of appetite, sore throat, bleeding, diarrhea, abdominal pain and vomiting are all common symptoms of EVD.

There is some interest in CBD for its antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties, particularly for the post-viral recovery stage (post-Ebola syndrome).
