Michael is a science writer and trained biomedical scientist. He spent five years working on a PhD in neuroscience before a medical condition forced a transition.

Michael began science writing and created a science communications blog (FreshScienceExplained.com), where he simplifies complex science for the curious. He enjoys creative writing and now works as a freelance science writer for Leafwell.

Michael is a multi-instrumentalist and plans to release his debut album in 2025. He lives in the Chicagoland area.
