Endometrial cancer (sometimes also called uterine or womb cancer) is a type of cancer that begins in the layer of cells that form the lining (endometrium) of the uterus. Cervical cancer is a separate type of cancer. Adenocarcinoma cancers are the most common type of endometrial cancer. Common symptoms of endometrial cancer include pelvic pain, unusual vaginal bleeding and weight loss.
The two major endocannabinoids, anandamide (AEA) and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), induce tumor cell death via interaction with the cannabinoid receptor, TRPV1. Treatment with a combination of anandamide and CBD showed particular promise in the treatment of endometrial cancer, but lab studies do not always translate to positive results in humans.
