Double Dream

Double Dream is a sativa-dominant hybrid created by crossing Dream Star with the famed Blue Dream, hence the name Double Dream. Double Dream is a 90% sativa and 10% indica hybrid with a THC content of 20%.

Double Dream is considered a daytime strain (cultivar) despite the dreamy name, and it causes a euphoric buzz and is unlikely to cause “couch lock.” Double Dream is informally considered a “party” strain, helping users become more sociable. Double Dream produces thick, frosted buds that are light green and covered in bright orange hairs (pistils). The leaves are wispy.

The strain is relatively easy to grow, but finding Double Dream seeds may be challenging as this strain is elusive. Most growers will grow this from cuttings, and it is a vigorous grower that will need a bit of attention, especially when it comes to trimming.

This variety benefits from heavy trimming to open up the center of the plant for good air circulation. Trimming will also help improve light intensity across bud sites. Double Dream buds can also get quite large and heavy, which is a plus for yields, but it does mean that a trellis should support them.

Double Dream responds well to the “screen of green” (SCROG) training method. The SCROG method involves topping the plants in the early vegetative stage (removing the apical or center stem). This encourages the plant to produce more side shoots, eventually becoming colas (flowers).

Once topped, the branches of the plants are gently weaved through support (usually a horizontal trellis) to maximize the amount of light reaching each potential bud site. Weaving the branches along the trellis will help support the weight of the buds and prevent snapping.

Double Dream is a high yielder producing up to 750 grams per square meter indoors and 800 grams per square meter outdoors. If growing outdoors, this variety prefers a warm “Mediterranean” climate.

Double Dream can grow quite tall, reaching between 60-80 inches indoors and out.

Humidity and Temperature

While this variety may be resistant to mildew, keeping the relative humidity between 40%-60% in the vegetative phase and dropping it to 30%-40% during flowering to prevent mold. Temperatures should stay in the 70-80 F (21-26 C) range; however, Double Dream can tolerate warmer temperatures.

Double Dream has a relatively short flowering period of 56-63 days (seven to eight weeks).
