Blue Kiss

Blue Kiss, aka “Little Blue Kiss,” is an indica-dominant hybrid strain (cultivar) that crosses DJ Short’s Blueberry and Mistress OG, creating a variety of cannabis with a berry-like, flowery taste and aroma with sedative effects. Blue Kiss may help manage medical conditions and symptoms like nausea, lack of appetite, headaches/migraines, anxiety, insomnia, and chronic pain.

Blue Kiss is a THC-dominant cannabis cultivar. Small amounts of cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG), cannabichromene (CBC), tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV), and cannabinol (CBN) have also been detected in Blue Kiss. Although these other minor cannabinoids are not found in high concentrations in Blue Kiss, they can impart an effect when taken together with THC. They may contribute to Blue Kiss’ sedative and anti-anxiety effects. As with its Blueberry parent, Blue Kiss can have euphoric, focusing, and talkative effects, giving way to relaxation and sedation.

Terpenes are found in all varieties of cannabis and contribute to its smell, flavor, and effects. This is no different for Blue Kiss, which has sedative properties partly due to the cultivar’s high THC and myrcene content. The smell, flavor, and effects suggest that Blue Kiss also contains pinene, humulene, and beta-caryophyllene.

  • Relaxing

The following adverse effects have also been reported:

  • Dizziness

Although relaxing, Blue Kiss is unlike many other strains (cultivars) labeled “indica” in that it can initially have uplifting, euphoric, talkative effects, leading to relaxing, sedative effects. This makes Blue Kiss ideal for managing anxiety, depression, and insomnia.

Other positives noted by those who have used Blue Kiss include appetite stimulation and nausea reduction, which is ideal for those going through chemotherapy.

Medical Applications

Blue Kiss may be useful for managing anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, headaches and migraines, nausea and vomiting, and loss of appetite. This makes varieties like Blue Kiss ideal for managing the side effects of chemotherapy and may even reduce the need for opioid-based painkillers, antidepressants, and stimulant medications.

Headache & Migraine

Cannabis’ ability to modulate serotonin transmission can help reduce the pain and intensity of headaches and migraines. Cannabis also contains antioxidative and anti-inflammatory flavonoids and terpenes that can help reduce stress and relieve headaches.

Organ Systems

  • Brain & Nervous System

Both THC and high doses of CBD can increase the signaling of the sleep neurotransmitter adenosine. This gives varieties like Blue Kiss their sedative effects.

growing strains

Blue Kiss is a relatively easy variety of cannabis to grow. It likes both the outdoors and indoors and is quite resistant to common molds and mildew. This makes Blue Kiss an ideal cultivar to grow for beginners.

Blue Kiss tends to grow quite short. Expect a height of four feet or under indoors or up to six feet outdoors.

Humidity and Temperature

Blue Kiss enjoys a warm, Mediterranean climate, so a temperature of 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit (18-30 degrees Celsius) is ideal. Humidity levels should be around 60% during vegetative growth and 30%-40% during flowering.

Blue Kiss flowers in 8-9 weeks.
