When it comes to cannabis, calling any particular product “the best” is extremely difficult. What may work for one person may not work for another. There is no specific research to say that “x product is better than all other products of its kind.” There are no nationwide, federal-level regulations or testing requirements, meaning results between states can vary.
Until we do have these things, we can use common sense (e.g. tested for solvents, labels with cannabinoid percentages/ratios) to grasp which products are amongst the best. So, with this in mind, here are 5 of the best cannabis concentrate products around at the moment. We’re sure there are many more, so don’t see this as a comprehensive list!

1. Decibel Farms – Banana Punch Live Rosin
Banana Punch is a cross between Banana OG and Purple Punch, and with THC levels of 60% plus, this concentrate certainly packs a punch. It also won a Cannabis Cup, and many rate the flower version quite highly, too. Some have reported that this particular variety produces a “creeper” effect, meaning that it won’t hit a user until several minutes after vaping or inhaling it. And when the effects do kick in, they can produce appetite-stimulating and sleepy effects, making this concentrate potentially suitable for treating insomnia and lack of appetite.
Decibel Farms is a craft grower from Oregon. Unfortunately, their products are not available in all states, but they can be found in California as well as Oregon. Their mission is to “to offer the best cannabis products we can create while maintaining an ethical and sustainable approach to our planet and community.”
2. Happy Cabbage Farms and Gadsden Farms – Sumo Oranges Solventless Hash Rosin
Happy Cabbage Farms are specialists when it comes to making solventless hash, which puts them in good stead when it comes to safety, as no solvents will make their way into the final product. They also make rosin carts (with no additives, fillers or cutting agents) and rosin syrup, making their products an excellent choice for those who want high-quality hash and rosin but don’t want to take chances with badly-made products. This particular hash rosin has also won a Cannabis Cup, taking second place for best concentrate in 2020.
3. Robin Hood Extracts – King Richard’s Reserve Rosin
Another High Times Cannabis Cup winner, this time in the hemp concentrate category, meaning that it is CBD-rich and contains little-to-no THC. This means that this particular extract can be delivered to all 50 states in the US! The cost can seem a little steep, but it’s worth it for the quality, and you can get money off if you put in the appropriate codes during checkout.
4. Metta Hemp – Delta-8 THC Concentrate (Dabs)
Delta-8 THC currently occupies a legal gray area, with some states banning it outright. However, as delta-8 THC can be derived from hemp and, as hemp extracts containing less than 0.3% delta-9 THC are federally legal (on top of the 2018 Farm Bill legalizing hemp production and everything in the composition of hemp products), some producers and even lawmakers have allowed products containing delta-8 THC to be legally sold in their state. Where states like Alaska, Arkansas and Arizona have prohibited delta-8 THC to be sold, or to be sold as cannabis, other states like Washington and Oregon have allowed delta-8 THC extractions to be sold legally.
So, why is delta-8 THC so attractive to medical cannabis users? Well, other than potentially giving people legal access to a compound that could be helpful to them, it is less psychoactive than delta-9 THC. There is still some euphoria associated with delta-8 THC, but the effects are generally far gentler and much less paranoia-inducing.
This makes products like Metta Hemp’s delta-8 THC dabs to potentially be very useful for those suffering from anxiety, where consuming small amounts of THC can beat it but larger amounts can prompt it.
5. Revolution Craft Extracts – Gorilla Glue # 4 Budder
Another High Times Cannabis Cup winner, and deservedly so. This particular budder is highly rated on I Heart Jane as well, with many people appreciating its stimulating effects and unique flavor profile. Revolution Craft Cannabis is dedicated to making consistent, high-quality products that are rooted in science. Revolution also breeds cannabis plants for specific cannabinoids like THCV and CBG, which suggests that they are interested in making products with a wide range of effects and uses, and are not just focusing on THC and CBD.
Is there a “best” cannabis concentrate, or is it a matter of personal preference?
We cannot say definitively which cannabis concentrates are “best”, as there is no scientific evidence showing that a specific product is best. Moreover, as everyone has their own, individual endocannabinoid system (ECS), what works for one may not work for another. This can make figuring out which product is best fairly problematic.

With that being said, there are certainly some producers who take their job more seriously than others. Leafwell likes to pay attention to such people and companies, and we feel that the above are just a few of the better ones out there.
